John J. Ziobron, 76, beloved husband of Betty C. Ziobron, died on Tuesday, (August 7, 2001) at Middlesex Hospital Hospice Unit, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Moodus on August 24, 1924. He is survived by three children, Kathy McPhee, Brenda Sherman and Michael Ziobron; and three grandchildren. He also leaves two loving step daughters and their husbands and children, Wendy and John King of Chester, and their sons, John and Michael, Toni and Ron Myers of Chester, and their daughter, Stacy of Washington D.C.; and their two sons, Timothy and Randy. He was predeceased by his sister, Mary Ziobron Romanofsky; and his two brothers, Joseph Ziobron and Paul Ziobron. Also, several nieces and nephew. He was an U.S. Navy Veteran serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict and a retired bricklayer. He was a member of the Westbrook Elks, and enjoyed raising cattle and working on and rebuilding farm tractors. Graveside services will be held on Friday, August 10, 10 a.m., at Resurrection Cemetery, RT. 145, Westbrook. Followed by a memorial service at the United Church of Chester, 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Weiss Hospice Unit, Middlesex Hospital, 55 Crescent St., Middletown, CT 06457 or the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Attn Dr William Hait, 679 Hoes Lane, Room 242, Piscataway, NJ O8854.
